What
Destiny Is
We
often hear people say word “destiny”, it
is also called fate, wether it is a bad or good fate. We also often hear people
saying “If it is God that destined me to be bankrupt, what can I do then?”
also “It’s been my destiny to be poor as
now, I will never be able to be rich”. Some people relate destiny with their
religious understanding, it is probably correct, but not for the whole.
The
meaning of destiny itself in dictionaries is “something happen to somebody in
the future, especially out of their control”. I think of doubtfulness about
this definition, why?, because actually the real meaning of destiny is
something happen to everything in the future, but it is not out of our control.
We have full authority of it and God will decide wether we can pass the destiny
or not.
As
an example, let’s take a look in a case that there was a family who lived in a
very bad poverty and lack of food in the past but, by working and thinking hard
and smart this family members can change
the destiny that had been addressed to them. They are now living in a proper
life, without lack of food and some of the family members can be categorized as
rich people. Last but not least, this family is a family that serve their God
well, they did pray and try in a balance degree, so they didn’t rely only on
one side of their life.
As
the second example, there was a student of a senior high school, he was a quite
smart student in almost all subject, but there was a subject he didn’t
understand at all ( he had a little knowledge about it, it is math. Days ,
weeks , months, and years passed by, but he still could not master it even just
a little bit, in fact that he would face national examination at that time, the
time left only a few weeks, neverthless, math was one of subject that wold also
be examined. Was he destined to not graduate because of his bad score in math?
, no, exactly one month before national examination, he pray and try balancely,
he praid to be given well understanding of math and also other subjects, and he
tried to run after his lackness in math, by studying in group, taking short courses etc. what was the
result then?. The boy finally graduated from high school with satisfaction
scores, especially in math, he got the highest score among all of his other
subject scores.
Here,
we can conlude that people’s destiny is not decided by The God, but they have
to make a road for their destiny first, and let God decide the best.
